Abstract
Microscopic visualization can provide valuable information to enhance the understanding of porescale transport phenomenon. This research provides insights which may support numerical flow simulations in microscopic scale displacement processes using a two dimensional (2D) micromodel. The visuals were recorded and analyzed to investigate as to how the sweep efficiency in carbonate reservoir rock samples varies with different displacing liquids. Crucial observations and results were attained for better understanding of the flooding practices conducted at the field scale.
