Abstract

F-23 3D/4C EMILIO - AZIMUTH PROCESSING FOR ANISOTROPY ANALYSIS Abstract 1 The Emilio 3D/4C OBC survey in the Adriatic Sea was designed to acquire wide azimuth data and processed to detect azimuthal anisotropy for fracture characterization in the reservoir. The principal anisotropy axes were estimated at a very early processing stage through the azimuthal analysis of PSwave receiver supergathers. Hence the entire PS-wave processing sequence was performed with horizontal geophones oriented in the natural coordinate system rather than in the conventional radial and transverse acquisition system. This approach permitted the analysis of azimuthally independent velocities the preservation of meaningful azimuthal
