Abstract

D-24 EFFECTS OF SPECTRAL CONTENT ON INVERSION FOR ACOUSTIC IMPEDANCE FOINAVEN FIELD Summary 1 Multiple seismic surveys at Foinaven field afforded an opportunity to directly compare data from streamer and ocean-bottom hydrophones. The ocean-bottom data was richer in low frequencies but comparable to the streamer data at high frequencies. Reservoir properties were compared for these surveys after acoustic trace inversion. The overall results are similar but with interesting differences in detail. Although the resolution of thin beds outside of the reservoir is comparable between the data sets the streamer data seems to provide a sharper image of the reservoir sand
