Abstract
P231 USE OF WIDE AREA REAL TIME POSITIONING WITH DECIMETER ACCURACY FOR SEISMIC APPLICATIONS INTRODUCTION 1 In recent years various applications have emerged both on- and offshore requiring real-time positioning with decimeter accuracy. This level of accuracy has been either impossible or prohibitively expensive to achieve over extended areas using conventional real-time GPS positioning techniques. Differential GPS (DGPS) is an established technique that provides positioning at the 1 meter accuracy level real-time. Conventional DGPS systems typically use single frequency L1 code pseudorangecorrections based on observations at one or more reference stations. The accuracy of conventional DGPS decreases as the distance
