Abstract

Synergies of CO2 enhanced gas recovery with CO2 emission reduction from gas-fired power plants About 30 % of CO2 emissions of the EU countries come from power generation. Hence the power generation sector offers opportunities to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Due to the fact that gas-fired power plants are the state-of-the-art for newly constructed power plants this article focuses on CO2 emission reduction from such power plants. The idea is to combine electricity generation with enhanced gas recovery projects. In this paper four different types of power plants with CO2 separation are investigated. The effects of CO2 on gas
