Abstract

Abstract Air Injection into Deep Light Oil Reservoirs: Combustion Tube Studies M.Greaves R.R.Rathbone O. ElAyadi and M. ElAbidi Waterflooding in light oil reservoirs can leave more than 30 % oil residual with some areas of the reservoir containing much higher Sor’s in tighter zones or trapped beneath shale lenses. How to access this oil residual? Air injection may be a good candidate and could be operated in a low temperature oxidation mode (LTO) at the reservoir temperature in a high temperature oxidation (HTO) mode i.e. in-situ combustion or even a combination of the two. Does it matter which? Only if
