Al-Fatah University The Palaeozoic and Mesezoic potential strata present in both Murzuq and Ghadamis basins is mainly represented by clastic sequences reaching a preserved thickness of more than 20 000ft in north-western Ghadamis Basin. The Palaeozoic strata in the two basins is directly related to the Palaeozoic sequences prevalent in the North African basins (Figure 1 & 2). The detailed interpretation of the Palaeozoic
