TT Domain Time Shift Estimation

Time shift estimation is a key technique in many areas of seismic processing and is still an active area of research as new techniques are continuously being implemented. Cross-correlation is the industry standard method and is robust in various settings; it suffers though when short segment of data used. In this paper, a new correlation based time shift estimation method in the TT (time-time) domain is proposed which overcomes artefacts related to the short windows. As a case study, this method is applied for detailed PP-PS registration prior to the simultaneous inversion.
