Distinction of Frequency Downshift Resulting from Tune of Thin Layer and Stratigraphic Absorption by FVO

Stratigraphic absorption and tune of thin layers both can cause frequency downshift, and then how can we distinguish between the two? In this paper we will introduce a method called FVO (Frequency Verses Offset) to make a distinction between the stratigraphic absorption and tune of thin layers using pre-stack CMP seismic data base on S-Transform.
