Abstract
A multiclient MT survey was performed in the Săo Francisco Basin, Brazil, with the objective of showing the potential of using MT data in the exploration for oil&gas in these large and unknown basins. The Săo Francisco Basin is an extensive proterozoic basin and interest is mainly on the potential for tight gas reservoirs. MT data helped identify sediment thickness, basement structure and other important features that will contribute for a better understanding of the basin.
