Analysis of Multiple Attenuation Through Prestack Migration in OVT Domain

Multiple attenuation is one of the key problems in seismic data processing, which often mislead geophysicists during seismic interpretation. Through research on OVT techniques, we have found that prestack migration in OVT domain can denoise multiples surprisingly. Based on intensive tests and comparisons between OVT migration and conventional common offset migration, we conclude that the main reason for multiple attenuation through prestack migration in OVT domain is the OVT gathers have larger offset range than that of common offset gathers.
