Abstract
Geological and geophysical responses are embedded in certain spectral range within the seismic bandwidth. Continuous Amplitude Phase Spectrum (CAPS) a spectral decomposition method is used to interpret such responses at both high temporal and spectral resolution. In this paper we show how CAPS spectral decomposition method is used to improve the seismic interpretation process. We illustrate the technique on two public offshore 3D seismic volumes i.e. F3 Block Netherlands and Penobscot Nova-Scotia Canada, where various features have been identified and highly resolved.
