Abstract

Researches in recent years suggest that fluid-sensitive dispersions generally lead to frequency-dependent AVO responses. Frequency-dependent seismic attributes, such as P-velocity dispersion, have proven to be practical carbon indicators, in terms of both poststack inversion and prestack inversion. We propose here a new fluid factor Df, the frequency-dependent fluid term, based on f-μ-ρ AVO approximation. The algorithm to estimate Df begins with spectral decomposition and performs prior constraints to enhance inversion stability. Prestack inversion of three real data sets demonstrate the feasibility of Df, which enjoys both fluid characteristics of fluid term and substantial seismic information of different frequency sections.
