Abstract
A WSW (well-seismic-well) method of pseudo-well construction is proposed in this paper. Different from WTW (well-to-well) methods such as IFK (interwell fractal kriging), SA (simulated annealing) and GA (genetic algorithm), an assistant project will be created at first with selected real wells and qualified 2d regional seismic lines. Then real wells constrained seismic inversion will be applied to these lines which connect the wells to the study seismic survey without wells to build an impedance framework. Pseudo-well log curves are derived from this framework. By using seismic data as a bridge between the real and pseudo-well, WSW is more geological rather than purely mathematical, and therefore is more reliable. The application of this method in Pakistan offshore project has yielded satisfactory results in sedimentology and overpressure analysis.
