Abstract
Characterizing the streaming potential and electro-osmotic properties of porous media is essential in applying these techniques for oil exploration. Streaming potential and electro-osmotic measurements have been performed for unconsolidated samples made of perfectly spherical polymer particles. Some basic parameters such as porosity, permeability, formation factor, pore size, the number of pores and zeta potential of the samples were obtained from those measurements. To check validity of the measurements, we also used another model to determine average pore size of the samples as well as used a sample made of sand particles to determine zeta potential.
