Robust Estimation of Geometrical Attributes

In this paper, we derived a direct relationship between the divergence attribute and the partial derivatives and another relationship between the rotation attribute and the partial derivatives. Based on these relationships, nearly all common geometrical attributes can be estimated directly from the partial derivatives of the wavefield. The direct estimation is more robust than the indirect methods. We provide a field example to show how to use these geometrical attributes in structure interpretation.
