Abstract

We report on an integrated approach to geophysical exploration in a frontier basin in the eastern branch of the East Africa Rift. A combination of techniques from our ‘geophysical acquisition toolkit’ is employed in order to better understand the area and optimally focus additional ‘big-spend’ exploration activities. Results from magnetic, gravity, full-tensor gravity gradiometry (FTG), magnetotellurics (MT) and passive seismic in addition to the conventional reflection-seismic are presented in this frontier exploration case study.
