Abstract
Wave-equation migration velocity analysis(WEMVA) is a velocity estimation technique to obtain velocity information by migrated images. First, image perturbation using image enhancing methods. Then, velocity perturbation are inversed with image perturbation. WEMVA can appropriate in steep or under illumination events. Wave-equation migration velocity analysis is a linearized inverse problem. It truncates the Born scattering serial to the first order term which bring divergence. So, a key step in implementing WEMVA is to design an appropriate procedure for constructing image perturbation. In this paper, we propose a improved methodology for constructing image perturbations based on the space-time-shift imaging condition. This approach is more accurate and simple to implement. Synthetic examples demonstrate the successful application of our method.
