Abstract

Sequence stratigraphic analysis plays an important role in the reservoir exploration for its controlling and guiding functions in seismic processing and interpretation. This study aims to comprehend the sequence stratigraphic characteristics of Block SQ, and confirm the sediments filling succession and spatial distribution through the establishment of 3-D sequence stratigraphic framework. Firstly a standard single well is selected to build the sequence division scheme, and then the scheme is applied to other wells for validation. The well-tie sequence stratigraphic section is established afterwards. Through the well-tie sequence comparison and seismic interpretation of sequence interfaces, the 3-D sequence stratigraphic framework is accomplished. With the framework, the sequences thickness variation pattern, sediments spatial distribution of the whole area and sediments source direction can be effectively analysed.
