Abstract
The paper presents basic assumptions of tight gas resources. It focuses on a unconventional reservoir rock - Permian Rotliegend sandstones and their properties. Development of sedimentary basin, distribution of reservoir facies, petrophysical parameters of reservoir rock and effectiveness of diagenetic processes determine the possibility of occurrence of unconventional resources. An example of unconventioanl tight gas deposit from Polish part of Southern Permian Basin is discussed with aforementioned guidelines.
