Abstract

The complicated geological structure and a small amount of the available well data make advanced seismic interpretation difficult. The problem occurs in the construction of the seismo- geological model, which is required to perform the seismic inversion and the time-depth conversion. This paper presents an unconventional approach to such type of topic for the area with complicated salt tectonics. Applied methodology included the omission of the horizon, which determined the salt dome and the creation of the theoretical well data. This makes it possible to better imagine geological structure of the area. For constructed 2D models, seismic inversion and the time-depth conversion were performed. The results showed the effectiveness of the applied methodology.
