Abstract

We developed a Kirchhoff beam Q migration method that combines the advantages of beam migration and Q migration to correctly handle both multi-arrivals and amplitude/frequency restoration. The method was successfully applied to a 2-D synthetic data set and produced images that are superior to those from single-arrival Kirchhoff Q migration or Kirchhoff beam migration without Q compensation.
