D032 AVO Based Prospect Evaluation – A North Sea Case Study R. Tonn* (Oilexco Inc.) & K. Waters (Ikonscience Ltd.) SUMMARY This study demonstrates how an AVO and Rock physics workflow was utilised to aid in the characterisation and de-risking of a North Sea turbidite channel. The channel anomaly can be correlated to several nearby oil and gas fields however the seismic reflectivity response showed marked differences. Initially extensive seismic modeling was carried out which indicated a range of possible geological settings that could cause such an anomaly.
