Keydar (Geophysical Institute of Israel) SUMMARY The Dead Sea coast suffers from a serious environmental problem: over the last ten years hundreds of sinkholes have appeared along coastal areas in Israel and Jordan. The size of the sinkholes varies from several meters to several tens of meters in diameter and depth.
