F025 Variable Aspect Ratio Method in the Xu-White Model for AVO J. Yan (Ikon Science Ltd) R. Lubbe (Ikon Science Ltd) & N. Pillar* (Ikon Science Ltd) SUMMARY The variable aspect ratio method provides an important improvement in the application of the Xu-White model for sand-clay mixtures and allows for a variable aspect ratio log to be introduced into the Kuster and Toksöz model replacing the fixed aspect ratio assumption. This method has shown a significant improvement in predicting the velocities over the conventional Xu-White model resulting in a more accurate AVO analysis. EAGE 69 th Conference & Exhibition —
