Abstract
H023 Gravity Stable Gas Injection for Tertiary Oil Recovery from a Giant High Relief Oil Field T. Clemens* (OMV E&P) M. Gruenwalder (OMV E&P) & A. Ali (OMV E&P) SUMMARY Due to the capillary pressure between water and oil a significant amount of oil remains in the reservoir even after a long period of water flooding. The oil recovery can significantly be improved by injecting gas in such a way that the gas/oil front moves gravity stable through the reservoir. Injection of various gases was investigated in a slice model and by performing and simulating slim tube experiments. In slim
