I005 UKCS Heavy Oil – In Production and More to Come S. Jenkins* (Nautical Petroleum Plc) SUMMARY EAGE 69 th Conference & Exhibition — London UK 11 - 14 June 2007 Heavy oil fields (less than 20° API and viscosity greater than 5cp) such as Captain Alba and Clair already contribute significantly to UKCS oil production. Production from the Alba field commenced in 1994 reaching peak production of 90870 barrels per day in 1997 Production to date is 331 mmbo with around 154 mmbo remaining.
