Abstract
P007 The Role of Pore Shape to Control Vp-Vs Relation F. Tsuneyama* (Idemitsu Oil & Gas Co. Ltd) SUMMARY I investigate the Vp-Vs trend of reservoir rocks in terms of pore shape. The general trend of sandstone is represented well by the modified Mavko equation. The linear regression for sandstone by Castagna et al. (1993) is one of the representatives of packed quartz grains. The stiffness of pore controls the data location in the velocity-porosity plane. The stiffest pore shape a sphere gives a modified upper Hashin- Shtrikman bound: the lowest Vp/Vs bound. Likewise the softest pore a flat layer
