Abstract

P012 Geomorphometric Analysis of SRTM Data Voids in the Sahara M. Bonnici* (Birkbeck College University of London) & P. Elsner (Birkbeck College University of London) SUMMARY The Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM) digital elevation model (DEM) is currently the most detailed near-global elevation data set. While proving generally accurate and complete coverage significant data voids are found in specific landscape types that are difficult to image with radar inferometry including sand deserts. These data gaps are routinely filled with interpolated DEMs from sparsly spaced elevation points. This study will address this aspect by a) assessing the vertical accuracy of both
