Abstract
P045 Comparison of VSP Multiple Imaging Approaches J. Yu* (BP America Inc.) B. Hornby (BP AMerica Inc.) J. Hornbeck (BP America Inc.) & R. Wardhana (BP America Inc.) SUMMARY We investigate the performance of two migration approaches using free-surface multiples for imaging VSP data: the “mirror principle” migration and crosscorrelogram or interferometric imaging methods. Both of these methods make use of the same wave-equation operator for comparison. The two migration methods have been tested on different data sets including field data. Test results indicate that both migration approaches are capable of producing good subsurface images and have wider illumination compared
