Morales Ramirez (Petroleos Mexicanos (Pemex)) SUMMARY An innovative approach to an integrated seismic interpretation project was performed using pattern recognition techniques to characterize the reservoir distribution at a recent discovery well located in the Bay of Campeche offshore Campeche State Mexico. This was accomplished by calibrating the well log data to seismic fragment-based impedance VClay Effective Porosity and Relative Acoustic Impedance volumes then extracting geobodies having similar attribute values.
