Abstract
P085 A Case Study of Porosity Prediction from Seismic Inversion in a Carbonate Oilfield Abu Dhabi UAE H.A. Nehaid (The Petroleum Institute now at ADCO) & M.Y. Ali* (The Petroleum Institute) SUMMARY Poststack seismic inversion was performed on data from a carbonate oilfield in Abu Dhabi. The field consists of two separate reservoirs (Arab C and Arab D). The Arab C reservoir comprises a sequence of dolomite sub-zones separated by layers of anhydrite. The underlying Arab D is a complex carbonate lithology with highly variable porosity. In the available 2D seismic data these units are not resolved making reservoir characterization
