Abstract

P148 Offset Continuation with Shifted Hyperbolas F. Miranda* (University of Texas at Austin) SUMMARY Offset continuation (OC) is an important tool for CRP stacking interpolating missing data DMO AVO and velocity analysis. We propose non-hyperbolic operators extending the offset continuation approximation with hyperbolic model to shifted hyperbolas which contains vertical lateral heterogeneity and anisotropy. This construction leads to a more general offset continuation operator. Its improvement is verified by numerical experiments. EAGE 69 th Conference & Exhibition — London UK 11 - 14 June 2007 INTRODUCTION Offset continuation(OC) by definition is an operator that transforms common offset seismic gathers from
