Abstract

P184 Pushing the Vibrator Envelope – How High Can We Go? Z. Wei* (Input/Output Inc.) SUMMARY Successful application of high-frequency in the Vibroseis method requires the vibrator to generate synchronous repeatable sweeps in broad frequency range. This requires evaluating each element of the vibrator system and ensuring that each part of the system contributes to the success of the method. Key factors which limit the vibrators’ high-frequency performance are the short frequency bandwidth of the servo valve system the baseplate flexure and weight and the coupling condition between the baseplate and the ground. This paper examines these factors and describes
