Abstract
P221 Seismic-Electric Mapping of Sub-Basalt Kimberlites A.A. Bulychov* (Institute of Geophysics) SUMMARY New layout of seismic-electric effect (SE) method was applied in a field on Aikhal geological occurrence to benchmark subsurface kimberlites covered by dense basalt traps. Powerful blows of large cart hammer were used as a source of seismic waves. Passed the basalt layer the seismic wave caused electromagnetic fields on the boundary interface with kimberlite or sedimentary rocks. To strengthen these SE signals the loop of induced electric current was applied on a surface. Electromagnetic field electric responses were measured on a surface by pairs of grounded dipole
