Abstract

P227 Dissolved CO2 Quantification Using Transmission Seismic Method N.F.K. Keshavarz* (Curtin University of Technology) & B.J. Evans (Curtin University of Technology) SUMMARY We performed direct transmission seismic experiments on a physical model to quantify the amount of dissolved CO2 in water. This study was performed to understand the seismic transmission response of dissolved CO2 during injection for subsequent monitoring and verification for accurate volumetric assessments. To quantify the amount of dissolved CO2 we dissolved different amounts of CO2 in distilled water and injected it under pressure into a pressure cell without a rock frame. Then seismic transmission tests were performed
