Georgiev* (Sofia University) SUMMARY The Tjulenovo mainly oil field in Valanginian carbonates was the first economic discovery in Western Black Sea region made in 1951. It is located at the northern Bulgarian Black Sea coast. Although the production began in 1954 and after 1968 goes down the field is still producing.
