Abstract
P267 Mixed-Phase Wavelet Estimation by Linear Inversion of High-Order Statistics X. Lu* (Imperial College London) & Y. Wang (Imperial College London) SUMMARY We have developed a new algorithm for mixed-phase wavelet estimation based on high-order statistics. The objective function is set to minimize the difference between the fourth-order moment of the wavelet to be estimated and the windowed fourth-order cumulant of seismic trace. This optimization problem is solved by iterative linear inversion. The initial estimate of the wavelet used in the inversion is generated through a high-order statistics based methods. This hybrid strategy can be applied to multi-channel real seismic
