Zharnikov (Schlumberger Research and Development) SUMMARY The Mixed Surface Waves which are the combination of the whispering gallery waves (or creeping waves) with the body homogeneous P- and S-waves propagating away from the boundary are presented. This waves appears near the curved interface of half-spaces or by the boundary of half-space with velocity gradient. The very specific properties of such waves are discussed. The velocity
