Abstract
P302 Character of Hydrocarbons on Spectral Decomposition of PP- and PS-Wave Data Z. Huang* (SINOPEC Nanjing Geophysical Prospecting Institute) SUMMARY The spectral decomposition using matching pursuit decomposition (MPD) for PP-and PS-wave data has better resolution on both time and frequency and maintains the consistent across the entire time-frequency plane. The MPD algorithm avoids problems of choosing the size of window and not showing temporal distribution of frequency comparing Fourier transform. The attenuation on the PP-wave is more effective after going through gas reservoirs than PS-wave data. There are some stronger amplitude low-frequency shadows on the PP-wave common frequency section beneath
