Abstract
P355 Azimuthal AVO Inversion for Fracture Characterization – A New Technique Using Singular Value Decomposition I. Varela* (EAP University of Edinburgh) & S. Maultzsch (Total E&P UK Limited Geoscience Research Centre) SUMMARY We develop a technique for azimuthal AVO inversion of fracture properties. The new methodology is based on a linear approximation to the AVO response presented by Riede et al. (2005) for a single azimuth. The method makes use of prior information from the rock properties above and below the interface given by well log or core data. The approximation is data driven found by calculating the principal components
