P004 A New Rock Physics Model for Sand-Clay Structures with Effective Porosity B. Gurevich (Curtin University and CSIRO Petroleum Perth) & R. Ciz* (Freie Universitaet Berlin) SUMMARY The distribution and amount of clay content within the sandstone has a great impact on seismic velocities. This knowledge of clay content is also important for reservoir characterization and interpretation of properties from well logs and seismic data. Reliable rock physics models implementing porosity clay content and fluid saturation are required for the inversion algorithms.
