Abstract

Noise Reduction in Land Seismic Acquisition by the use of High-fold Multi-Component Single Point Sensors. Brian Donnelly (Input/Output UK Ltd) SUMMARY____________________________________________________________ We discuss how recent developments in seismic recording techniques can be used to dramatically improve noise attenuation in land seismic acquisition. The use of wireless technology allows for unrestricted fully-configurable survey geometries making super-high fold recording practical. The optimised orthogonal survey spread lends itself to the use of Offset Vector Tiling methods for geometry regularisation and enhanced seismic data processing.
