Abstract

The practical experience of experimental approbation in 2000-2008 of an untraditional
geoelectric methods of forming short-pulsed electromagnetic field (FSPEF) and vertical electric-resonance
sounding (VERS) (FSPEF-VERS express-technology) for the oils and gas prospecting is generalized. The
results of experimental work show that: a) technology can be used on stage of regional and detailed studies;
b) the methods work effectively on onshore and on offshore; c) the survey by FSPEF method from plane
allows to examine operatively the removed and difficult of access territories; d) it is reasonable to use a
technology when the prospects of oil-and-gas content of deep horizon of sedimentary cover and crystalline
basement studying; e) the integration of FSPEF-VERS methods with seismic (and other) methods can
essentially accelerate and optimize the geological prospecting process for oil and gas as a whole. The unique
data of monitoring observations for the gas pump-down from "man-caused" pool are shown. Attention is
accented on importance of the problem of studying the near-surface layer of charged particles and zones on
polarizations on the geological heterogeneities borders.
