Active Seeing: Future Visualization in Film and Science

We enumerate a set of interlocking design principles which, taken together or applied<br>in appropriate combination, speed comprehension of complex data sets, simplify<br>interaction, and amplify the effectiveness of manipulations. In general, these<br>approaches all seek to engage various highly-evolved cognitive skills used by<br>humans in everyday (but non-computer-related) tasks.
