Abstract

We show the results of applying an approximate 2.5D version of surface-related multiple elimination (SRME) to
attenuate multiples on a wide-tow marine data set. The data exhibits a significant diffracted multiple problem
caused by a rugose water bottom. We compare SRME results to those of Radon multiple attenuation and
demonstrate that approximate 2.5D SRME is a viable approach to multiple attenuation for some wide-tow
marine data sets.
