Abstract
Detailed study of the Phase and Amplitude of wavelets in the migrated gathers
events can be utilized to obtain a very high spatial resolution velocity model. The
methodology is based on demanding that the analytically extended intercept and
gradient, computed over a limited angle range, are in phase (Swan 92, Swan 97). The
automation of this methodology provides us with dramatically flat migrated gathers plus
a very high-resolution 3D velocity field.
