Abstract
The shape optimisation method is frequently used in solid mechanics. It consists in modifying, in an iterative way, the geometry of the object or the body to be identified in order to minimise a criterion also called the objective function. These optimisation techniques do not allow topology change. The final and the initial body have the same number of components and the connections are not modified.
