Abstract

In any field development project the starting requirements are a good image, good well ties and reliable depth conversion. The Embla field represents an extreme example of the problems of seismic imaging beneath an overborden with strong lateral velocity variations, with poor matches to well synthetic seismograms, and major uncertainties in true depth prediction.
