Mapping net pay and channel facies using P- and S-impedance inversion of 3D seismic in deepwater GOM

3D seismic data over the Horn Mountain field, deegwater Gulf of Mexico, were transformed to net /gross volume by combining P-impedance and S-impedance inversions calibrated with log and core data. The net pay volume transformation has excellent agreement with wireline log data and is being used for detailed reservoir description and Field development planning.
